Washington State University Radio and Television Services records, 1922-1994.

Series I includes correspondence, memoranda, and reports. Series II contains records on black issues programs. Series III-V deal with air reports, awards, directories, manuals, and schedules. Series VII contains Emergency Broadcast System information for radio. Series VI, VIII, and IX are personal office files including correspondence, memoranda, clippings, and reports. Series X is comprised of the results of the Public Radio and Television Planning Project. Series XI consists of scrapbooks of news items about KWSU Radio and Television. Scripts for radio presentations comprise Series XII. Series XIII deals with the production of the special television series "South By Northwest". Series XIV contains materials on the Tape Network; Series XV contains tape recordings that cover a wide variety of topics. Records consist of subject files of correspondence, memoranda, notes and reports relative to many subjects, along with sampled program logs, and various recordings, publications, and photographs of a historical nature.

Born in Louisiana, blues guitarist and singer Johnny Copeland (1937-1997) was raised in Houston, Texas, where he formed the band Dukes of Rhythm. Although he recorded albums and performed with Sonny Boy Williamson and Bib Mama Thornton in Texas, Copeland only received recognition after moving to New York City in 1975. Six years later, he signed with Rounder Records and released his album with Arthur Blythe and Byard Lancaster, Copeland Special . In 1982, during a tour of West Africa...
